I hope to create patterns to make knitted lace more accessible to knitters who are not experienced in lace. A few simple stitches – knit, yarn over, and knit two together - can be used to knit lace. The beginning patterns here use one or two simple lace stitch patterns, repeated, to make lace. All of the patterns are made with a fingering weight yarn or double strand of lace weight, or heavier, so that they can be knitted relatively quickly. The intermediate and advanced level patterns incorporate more complex stitch patterns.
All of the yarn used in these kits is 100% natural fiber. Natural fibers breathe and garments are more comfortable to wear than if made with synthetic yarn, and knitted lace will be more attractive because natural fibers can be stretched and will hold the shape after blocking.
